Motorola running out of time to survive in handset market

Jha and co-CEO Greg Brown dismissed any idea of selling the handsets unit and said the plan was still to turn it around and then spin it off once economic conditions improve, though many analysts expect Motorola to be seeking out possible private equity partners. CFO Paul Liska is the latest casualty of the management cull, and is replaced by senior VP and corporate controller Edward Fitzpatrick.
