Unitech Wireless

[12/05/2009] - Indian cellco Unitech Wireless has awarded contracts worth an estimated USD400 million to hardware vendors Alcatel-Lucent and Huawei for the rollout of GSM-based infrastructure. It is believed that Huawei has been selected to carry out the larger share of the construction, with its contract reportedly worth around USD225 million.

[12/05/2009] - Batelco has completed formalities to finalise the acquisition of a 49 per cent shareholding in S Tel Limited (S Tel) for $225 million. S Tel has licenses to operate in six Indian states - Bihar, Orissa, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, North East and Assam.

[11/05/2009] - VoiceNetworkx has tapped Solectek, a San Diego, CA based carrier grade wireless broadband equipment manufacturer, as their infrastructure provider for their 3.65 GHz WiMAX deployment across Southern California.
