Published: 5 June, 2009

The PC makers themselves are divided. Google was deliberately cool on near term netbook prospects for Android, and Asus said its own Android product was on the back burner. BenQ also showed netbooks with Moblin and Android, so the battle over which Linux variant will dominate is clearly wide open. Other Android netbooks were on show at ODMs in Taipei, though most did not have firm shipment dates - these came from Elitegroup, Inventec, Asustek subsidiary Pegatron.
