Orange is also, like Sprint, using the Google services as a fairly risk-free (and cheap) way to create an attractive user experience of its own, to rival Vodafone 360 and others. This will be vital to all carriers in developed markets as they face up to open access and prepaid models - users need to be kept loyal in other ways, primarily through a web experience that they find friendly.
From October, the Orange Signature Android series, including the new LG Eve (in France and Spain), HTC Tattoo (France, UK and Spain) and HTC Hero (France) will also feature specially designed services like the Orange Email Wizard, which will allow users to set up their chosen mobile email services, including Gmail of course, on their phone. Google Mobile App will later be made available across a wider range of Signature devices running Symbian Series 60, BlackBerry and Windows Mobile.
