Barcelona, Mobile World Congress 2010 - One of the world's leading smart card manufacturers, Sagem Orga (Safran group), has been nominated for the renowned GSMA Mobile World Award with its product "SIMply Mobile Wallet," the world's first Near Field Communication sticker with phone connectivity and integrating a Java Card™ secure element chip. Sagem Orga developed the solution in cooperation with Twinlinx.

Every year as a part of the Mobile World Congress, the Global Mobile Awards are given to the best technological innovations in the field of mobile telecommunication. Sagem Orga's solution SIMply Mobile Wallet is listed as a finalist in the category "Best Mobile Connected Device (non-handset)."

The award-nominated solution is a mobile contactless sticker powered by the Twinlinx "MyMax" and Sagem Orga Java Card™ technologies. The interactive SIMply Mobile Wallet sticker adds Near Field Communication (NFC) capability to existing and future mobile phones and can be managed securely over the air (OTA). It will provide help in kick-starting the market and the mass deployment of NFC applications.

The main features are:

  • A multi-application environment compliant with Global Platform and allowing various services
  • Support for MasterCard and Visa payment applications
  • Compatibility with MIFARE technology
  • Support for Public Key Infrastructure cryptography

The winner will be announced during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Tuesday afternoon, February 16, in the main conference auditorium at the Congress.
