Another Nokia handset leaked before an official announcement has been made the C7 is a touchscreen smartphone and the second which will run Symbian^3. The also prematurely leaked N8 will be the first to run Symbian^3 and Nokia went to the lengths of getting Russian Police to retrieve the device, though the C7 doesn't look like it will be as important. While the internal specs remain a mystery it is clear from the pictures that it will feature an 8mp camera, compared to the 12mp camera in N8.

The N8 features a 3.5" AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, which according to the source of the leak the C7 is said to improve upon in addition to a more responsive UI. Other key specs of the N8 which will more than likely be available in October include HD video, VGA video calling and a 648MHz ARM processor. As the C7 costs significantly less than the N8 it will be interesting to see how they economise on the features. The battery life is reportedly good though on the C7 with an estimated 50 hours of playback for music and 7 for video. Other areas where the device is lacking in comparison to the N8 is the 8GB of on-board storage and lack of a HDMI port.

Appearance wise the device looks slightly plastic, with a shiny chrome bevel and is more rounded than its sleeker Symbian^3 counterpart. If the design isn't enough to win over Nokia fans then there's a rumoured C7-01 with a slide-out QWERTY rumoured to be released in early 2011. The C7 is expected to cost $445, slightly less than the $549 the N8 will site consumers back. If neither the C7 or N8 appeals then the same source reckons that a third Symbian^3, the E7, will not be far behind, though even less is known about it.

There has been the suggestion that the device could launch officially at Nokia World, September 14-15.
