Despite having no release date and no price tag attached to it anyone eager to get their hands on the Samsung Fascinate can pre-order it at Best Buy starting this Sunday. Best Buy states that a date and pricing won't be too far behind and anyone who is a member of Best Buy's Reward Zone and wants to make doubly sure of getting the device can reserve the handset from today.
Similar in appearance to the Samsung Beam the Fascinate features an impressively large 4" Super AMOLED capacitative touchscreen with multi touch support and a 480x800 resolution. Under the hood there is a 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor and 512MB of ram. At the moment it looks like the Fascinate will ship with Android 2.1 rather than the latest 2.2 release.
Multimedia features include a 5mp camera with flash, a HD video camera and 8GB of internal memory expandable up to 32GB. Also known as the Samsung Galaxy S the Verizon Wireless branded phone is a solid offering though might not be fascinating enough to tempt people away from some of Verizon's other smartphones.
"Like the other Galaxy smart phones, the Verizon Wireless Samsung Fascinate, is a great phone and we are excited to bring it to our customers with this presale" says Scott Anderson from Best Buy.
Already available in Europe the Galaxy S has gotten a positive reception though there have been some reports of a bug where the phone is automatically reset and data erased when it is connected to a PC. Even though Samsung say they have identified the source of the bug and has come up with a solution it is still a worry to potential customers.

The handset can be pre-ordered from any Best Buy or Best Buy Mobile mobile mobile store from this Sunday Augsust 29. Best Buy already carries the full line of Samsung smartphones as well as the iPhone 4, HTC EVO 4G and BlackBerry Torch.
