Samsung's Fascinate arrives at Verizon, with possible freebies

The final carrier to offer a Samsung Galaxy S Smartphone, Verizon sweetens the deal with bogof offer

Yesterday we looked at the chance the latest in the Samsung Galaxy S range of smartphones would be arriving at Verizon on Thursday, but it has come to the carrier a day early. In addition to arriving ahead of time, the phone also comes with a generous buy one get one free offer where the customer basically takes out two contracts but only buys one phone. It's an unexpected move and one that seems aimed at pushing the Android smartphones to as many people as possible.

The Fascinate costs $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate, which means that the free phone will also require a mail-in rebate. It's not exactly a simple offer but still a money-saver for anyone wishing to buy the phone for themselves and another. A two year contract starting at a minimum $29.99 a month is required for each phone and the initial expenditure will be around the $400 mark.

The offer is advertised as buy one get one free but anyone purchasing the handset can claim up to four of the devices free according to the product page. Again if the logistics of purchasing multiple phones with multiple contracts and rebates doesn't put you off, and you know a group of people who want this phone, then there's the potential to save some money.

With a 4" Super AMOLED screen and 1GHz processor with a focus on multimedia applications, the latest Galaxy S Smartphone looks like it could be another hit. With the Samsung Galaxy S series recently hitting the one million milestone in the US (hitting that milestone faster than Motorla's Droid) and the announcement of their dual core mobile chip, it looks like 2011 could be a big year for Samsung and smartphones in general.

The Fascinate is also available on a one year contract with a price tag of $269.99 with the $100 discount.
