Thanks once again to the German branch of Amazon's website putting up details of devices ahead of schedule a price for the Palm Pre 3 has been revealed. For €449 ($639) German HP fans can pre-order the device which is the best spec'd WebOS handset yet and will certainly offer more for its price tag than the previous Pre devices did. The listing also confirms the Pre 3's status as a world phone as a recent FCC filing showed it would be delivered with CDMA and GSM compatibility.
Though it won't be offering a dual-core processor like many of the high-end handsets out there the Palm 3 will be packing a speedy 1.4GHz Qualcomm 8X55 processor. The display is bigger than the previous model at 3.58" and it will also offer 512MB as well as a choice of 8GB or 16GB of internal memory. Like the Pre 2 the screen will be hiding a slideout full QWERTY keyboard and there's a rear-facing 5mp camera and front-facing 2mp camera rounding out the specs. Powering it all is 1230mAh battery, also an improved component over the Pre 2 but with a larger screen and faster processor this might not equate to a longer battery life.
While the US price has yet to be confirmed, and $629 would be more than a bit overpriced, Playboy magazine in the states has recently estimated that it will cost $200 on a contract which is certainly more palatable.

When it hits the US it looks set to go on sale through Verizon but it's availability is still a mystery, the Pre 3's product page on HP's website gives a vague window of the summer. With the right price it might be the Pre's time to shine and it certainly sits more comfortably with its contemporaries than the Pre 2.
