Nokia's not alone in its Q2 struggles

Another former star struggling to stay relevant in the high end mobile space is RIM, whose share of the US smartphone sector fell from 30.4% to 25.7% between January and April this year, according to comScore. Like Nokia, it is transitioning to an untried new platform, QNX, for tablets, as well as to a delayed BlackBerry OS 7 for handsets - and, of course, suffering from the growth of Android and the power of Apple. There have also been reports that shipment of its new Bold smartphones has been postponed until September.
