The iPhone 4S has been Apple's fastest selling handset yet and will soon weave its magic on more of the world's population as the company has announced that it's going to be available in 15 additional markets, with Hong Kong and South Korea being the two key ones, starting November 11. Other countries where November will see customers queueing around the block to get their hands on one include; Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, El Salvador, Greece, Guatemala, Malta, Montenegro, New Zealand, Panama, Poland, Portugal and Romania.
Despite not living up to the hype that had been built up over the months leading up to its release, where many thought it would be the iPhone 5 and offer more groundbreaking specs, it has done pretty well for itself. Even though there have been problems reported with its battery life and the talkative Siri, which apparently has trouble understanding strong accents, Apple's fans passion for the device has remained undimmed.
Although many users have reported a battery which drains unusually fast it has been suggested that the problem is more to do with the operating system than the phone. Owners of the iPhone 4 and iPad have made similar complaints since upgrading to iOS 5. The benefits seem to outweigh the complaints, reminiscent of last year's 'Anntenagate', and the iPhone 4S offers a dual-core processor the usual choices of internal memory and an 8mp camera with 1080p HD video recording.
Even with the fact that it's on a par with the best Android handsets out there rather than surpassing them to many in the US just having an Apple branded phone is enough. AT&T recently reported seeing huge demand for the iPhone 3GS, the first Apple handset to be offered for free on a contract.
Currently the iPhone 4S is available in 29 countries a number which is set to increase to 70 by the end of the year.
