Sony Ericsson LT28at stops by Bluetooth SIG on its way to AT&T

Impressively spec'd handset headed for carrier in the new year

The Sony Ericsson LT28at has been spotted on the Bluetooth SIG's site indicating that the superphone is headed to AT&T in the US. While listed as the Sony Ericsson LT28at it's set to be released under the aegis of just Sony when it reaches the States. There's some speculation that it might be an American version of the Nozomi which was spotted earlier this month though this seems unlikely as the LT28at is set to be a dual-core device rather than a quad-core one.

Either way the specs promise to be above average for a Sony Ericsson handset and certainly shows the company shifting its focus back to the hardware after saying that software was more important than the best specs. This year has shown that this wasn't the case and even much hyped devices like the Xperia Play didn't make as much of an impact as it seemed they would.

The phone is going to be packing a large 4.55" display with a 720x1280 resolution and 1.5GHz dual-core processor as well as a 13mp rear-facing camera. It will also offer a front facing camera and more importantly connectivity on AT&T's LTE network.

According to the entry the phone will bring "XPERIA into super phone territory" but reveals little else other than it will be running Android. Which version of the OS isn't mentioned but there seems a good chance it could offer Ice Cream Sandwich.

There's no indication of when it will go on sale in the US but if it's on its way to AT&T there's a good chance of an unveiling at CES in January. Availability elsewhere is even more of a mystery with its 4G status though a variant might find its way to the UK minus the LTE radio.
