Another rumour has become reality this week and it's the turn of the HTC Titan II to step into the limelight. The original Titan was notable among Windows Phones for its large 4.7" display and now it has another distinguishing feature in the form of a 16mp camera. As well as this feature which should put it at the forefront of mobile photography it also has the honour of being the first HTC handset running Microsoft's OS to offer LTE connectivity at AT&T. Rumours of a 16mp HTC Windows Phone first appeared as early as April last year and up until recently it was known as the Radiant.
Underneath the large display the Titan II packs a 1.5GHz processor and as well as the 16mp rear-facing snapper there's a 1.3mp one on the front for video calling. Of course megapixels aren't everything but it's twice the resolution of the original Titan's 8mp camera and the highest in the US. It's closest competitor in that department at the moment is the Sony Xperia Ion which has also been launched this week.
Another improvement over its predecessor is the battery and it has a slightly larger 1,730mAh pack. Internal storage remains the same at 16GB though its worth photography fans bearing in mind that more space will be taken up by the images than before. Externally it looks more or less the same as before and for anyone not bothered about the camera the Titan is still available from AT&T for $199.99 on a contract.

There's no information on a release date or pricing yet but it has been vaguely said that it will be available over the coming months. The Titan II is the first big Windows Phone announcement to come out of CES with more promised to follow.
