Last year details leaked of a device known as the HTC Ville and while there was no sign of it at CES Pocket Now is reporting that it's headed to T-Mobile this Spring. When it first appeared back in November it got overshadowed by rumours of the quad-core HTC Edge which could well make its debut at the Mobile World Congress in February. Despite not having the quad-core prowess of its bigger brother the rumoured specs of the Ville are still nothing to be sniffed at.
When it arrives at T-Mobile it's expected to feature a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, 4.3" display and possibly an 8mp rear-facing camera. Beats Audio integration and a 1650mAh battery are also on the cards. However any other details of its internal hardware remain elusive but it seems likely it will come with Ice Cream Sandwich installed and there's talk of the Ville running a completely new version of HTC's Sense UI. In addition to this it's also believed to be the company's thinnest handset yet at just 8mm.
Unfortunately Spring is about as specific as it gets and there's still no indication of a day or a month when the Ville is going to be released. The real news here though is that the device is destined for T-Mobile. Previously there's been talk of a reveal at MWC followed by a launch in April.
It has also been reported that HTC is planning a new service entitled HTC Family to join the likes of HTC Play and HTC Read. The service will apparently provide a wall where family members can communicate and co-ordinate their activities. A geolocation service may be featured as well allowing anxious parents to keep tabs on their children.
It's a safe bet more details are going be revealed about the new handset and the new service at the MWC next month. No doubt when it arrives the handset will come with HTC Family to compliment its new version of HTC's Sense UI.
