AT&T has a received a double helping of Pantech goodness in the form of the Element tablet and Burst smartphone this week. Both are quite well spec'd devices which offer LTE connectivity for a reasonable price on a contract. There's a lot to like here and the Burst is a strong start to Pantech's re-entry into the smartphone market.

Topping the bill with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and 8" display is the Element tablet. Aside from the processor and display key features include 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage as well as front (5mp) and rear (2mp) facing cameras. A 6400mAh battery should offer 12 hours of use before it needs recharging and it comes with Android 3.2 installed. It's also said that it's waterproof though this really means splash proof and probably shouldn't be used for underwater photography.

The Element is available now for $299.99 on a two-year contract, or for a still affordable $449.99 without.

It might not be a brand that's traditionally associated with high-end smartphone specs but the Pantech Burst packs a 4" Super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 16GB of internal storage. On the rear there's a 5mp snapper which is joined by a front-facing camera for video calling. Powering it all is a 1650mAh battery which is said to last for 4.5 hours of talk time. It's not as tasty as it could be though coming with Android 2.3 installed rather than Ice Cream Sandwich.

Like the Element tablet the Burst isn't going to break any banks and costs $49.99 on a contract, or $399.99 without.

For any consumers who are after both a tablet and a smartphone the pair are being offered as a bundle for $249.99 and each will require signing up to a two-year contract. Whether purchased alone or as a bundle each device makes for a competitive offering at the carrier.
