The fact that the Lumia 900 is due to be released on March 18 is no secret, but up until now its price has been. Boy Genius is reporting that anyone planning on getting the device can expect to pay a promisingly low $99.99 on a contract for the carrier's first Nokia handset running Windows Phone. The low price point is significant making it one of the most affordable flagship phones out there. It may not have a dual-core processor but in every other respect it's a seriously competitive handset and should prove a hit if its price tag is accurate.
Essentially just a larger version of the Lumia 800 the 900 features a 1.4GHz processor, 16GB of internal storage and a 4.3" display. Backing up the processor is 512MB of RAM and on the rear there's an 8mp camera with a Carl Zeiss lens. It's a decent little package tied up in an attractive polycarbonate shell and offers LTE connectivity to boot, a feature which will really make it stand out among similarly priced devices.
March 18 won't just see the Lumia 900 arrive at the carrier and the Titan II is also set to be released on that day in addition to a number of Android devices. The Titan II is notable for its 4.7" screen and 16mp camera and also comes with a 1.5GHz processor and 16GB of internal storage. Its specs may be slightly better but word on the street has it that it won't be as affordable as Nokia's device and is set to cost around $199.99 on a contract.
It's going to be a good day for Windows Phone and Nokia however they may have a little bit of their limelight stolen as the Samsung Galaxy Note, Samsung Rugby Smart and AT&T Fusion are also rumoured to be arriving the same day.
