Amidst all the rumours of the quad-core devices that are set to be released this year there had to be one less impressively spec'd device that slipped through the net and it looks like that device is the LG Optimus L3. Its existence has previously been a mystery but one Swedish phone seller has put the phone up for pre-order displaying it in its full glory. Internally it's a fairly average device but on the outside it sports some good looks with a price tag which promises not to leave too much of a dent in your bank account.
Details on key features such as its processor and how much RAM it will be packing are not yet known but it's confirmed to have a 3.2" display, rear-facing 3mp camera and a microSD card slot. Unfortunately the screen only has a 240x320 resolution and unsurprisingly it comes with Android 2.3 installed.
It may contain last year's average hardware but LG has delivered devices like the Optimus One in the past which have proved popular while sitting firmly at the low-end of the market. Externally it takes its design cues from Nokia and looks a little like someone sat on a Lumia 800, but retaining an air of LG-ness.

Available in a choice of black or white the L3 is currently going for 1290 SEK ($190) from cdon.com. The site suggests that the device is going to ship at the end of the month February 27.
There's no indication yet when it's going to arrive anywhere outside of Sweden but it seems likely that it will be officially launched at the MWC next month along with the more recently rumoured and better spec'd Optimus 3D Max and Optimus X3. Although it might get overshadowed by its quad-core brothers at the upcoming event it wouldn't be surprising to see this phone do well when it goes on sale.
