Fujitsu has yet to make an impact in the tablet world and judging by what is currently known about the Fujitsu Stylistic M350/CA2, its latest offering, this isn't going to change any time soon. The press release fails to go in to much detail about the internal hardware but it does give some suggestions about its possible uses which include being a mobile sales terminal, a method of displaying digital catalogues in retail stores and as an e-book reader in classrooms.
Key features of the slate are set to include a 7" display, 512MB of RAM and 6.1 hours of battery life. It will also be running Android 2.3 and weighs 450g but apart from that Fujitsu aren't revealing anything else about its hardware.
However the tablet does appear to be quite similar to the M350H slate which was released in Hong Kong back in September. The M350H came with a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor, 16GB of storage with the help of a microSD card and all the usual connectivity options including mini USB and mini HDMI.
Whatever the final version of the specs turns out to be there's no doubt we're looking at a low-end device here. Externally it looks functional rather than stylish and isn't the thinnest slate out there with a thickness of 14mm.

Exact details on pricing and availability are just as hazy as those of the internal specs but it is known to be arriving in Japan this month. It is said to offer "excellent cost performance" so presumably it's going to be competitively priced when it arrives although one source claims it's will go for around ¥34,800 ($454) which certainly doesn't tally with this statement. The official word on Fujitsu's site is that pricing is currently open.
There's no mention of a US release but judging by what's known so far the Stylistic M350/CA2 won't be greatly missed if it doesn't reach American shores.
