AT&T customers eager to start scribbling on their smartphone can now pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Note in both carbon blue and ceramic white at the carrier. Last week it was officially announced that the handset was going to be released on February 19 after confirming that it would be reaching the US at CES. Like the Samsung Galaxy Nexus before it the device was released in Europe and South Korea months before its imminent North American arrival.

With its 5.3" display it has sold well so far and certainly is the most popular device so far to straddle the boundaries between a smartphone and a tablet. Apart from its screen the internal specs are also impressive offering a dual-core 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM and 4G LTE connectivity.

This year's Super Bowl saw Samsung once again not hide its feelings towards Apple with the company's Galaxy Note commercial. In it Apple fans queueing for the latest iPhone are encouraged to abandon their positions by a man wielding a Galaxy Note. What follows is over-the-top YouTube comment bait but there's no denying that the Note is an impressive device and doesn't need to make fun of Apple to promote itself. It's all very amusing but the real rival to the next iPhone is undoubtedly the Galaxy SIII which is now set to be officially revealed at some point after the MWC this month.

Anyone who wants one can pre-order it online now and will need to hand over $299.99 and sign up to a two-year contract. Those who order it early can expect to have it in their hands by February 17. Even with the slightly earlier release than physical stores Canada is still going to get it beforehand as it's due to be released north of the border on February 14.
