The UK should have been receiving ZTE's latest own-branded handset this week in the form of the Tania but it now looks like it's going to have to wait a little longer. Pushed back until next week it won't prove too much of a wait for anyone anticipating the device and there's better news as £50 has been shaved off its price tag.
Key specs of the phone include a single-core 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. They might not be the most inspiring specs in the world but it does offer a reasonably large 4.3" display. There's also a 5mp rear-facing camera and a 1400mAh battery powering it all which is expected to offer around 4 hours of talk time.
Externally it's not a bad looking thing and is only 10.7mm thick so it won't take up too much pocket space, at least in terms of its chunkiness.
The £50 reduction means that without a contract any consumers who fancy seeing what a ZTE handset running WP7 is like will be able to do so for £199.99. While the cut price is welcome the specs still seem underwhelming for the money and 4GB of internal storage isn't a lot for a handset which doesn't offer a microSD card slot.
Currently Clove is offering the device for pre-order unlocked but is expected to be landing at other outlets including Brightpoint, Virgin media and Go Mobile where it will be sold on a contract. While there's no exact release date the online retailer is expecting it to go on sale around February 20.

Although it's another device which doesn't offer any improvement in the hardware department compared to last year's Windows Phone devices it does at least show an improvement in the price.
