Ahead of its release in the US the Samsung Galaxy Note has gone on sale in Canada and is available now from Bell and Telus. Although potential customers will have to spend $199 and sign-up to a hefty three-year contract to get their hands on it the impressive list of internal specs it boasts should make it fairly future-proof.
The device has already proved a hit in the other markets it has been launched in and looks set to make a similar impact in the US and Canada. It was initially launched in Korea then in Europe in November but was announced for the US in January at CES.
With its 5.3" display, dual-core 1.5GHz processor and 1GB of RAM the Note earns its high-end stripes. In addition to this there's 16GB of internal storage and 4G LTE connectivity but the one thing that really helps it to stand out is its stylus. With apps designed especially for the device and its pen Samsung has done a better job than HTC did with its Flyer tablet a fact proved by the company's announcement late last year that it had shipped one million units since its initial October release.
While the Note may have been Samsung's valentines gift to Canada the US isn't so lucky and will instead be getting it on February 19. AT&T has already put the phone up for pre-order and is offering it for $299.99 on a two-year contract.
In the absence of its Galaxy SIII the Note is one of the most impressive devices Samsung has at the moment and it's been making a big push advertising it in the US, especially with its recent Apple mocking Super Bowl ad.

For those in Canada who prefer to get their handsets from Rogers rather than Bell or Telus the device is headed to the carrier as well but has yet to appear on its site.
