The HTC Endeavour has already had its name changed once and now its identity crisis is set to deepen further as Pocket Now is reporting it is to be known as the One X when it hits the market. Previously there were rumours of it being called the HTC Supreme when made official but it now seems like the company is going for something a little less boastful. It's not only the quad-core flagship that's set to get rebranded and the equally long-rumoured Ville is also said to be joining One family as the One S.
Currently it's expected that in addition to the 1.5GHz quad-core processor the One X is going to feature 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It has a fairly large screen at 4.7" and on the rear it should find itself with an 8mp camera. If the rumours are true then it will be shipping with Ice Cream Sandwich installed and considering its impressive specs it would be disappointing if it didn't.
Lower down the line the One S sits and rumoured specs include a 4.3" display and 1.5GHz dual-core processor. Apart from the smaller screen and slower processor it appears to be a scaled down version of the One X and also has a rear-facing 8mp camera.
Both devices are expected to take centre stage at HTC's booth at the Mobile World Congress later this month and regardless of how many cores they offer each looks very promising. While the name changes won't be confirmed until their official unveiling it has already been spotted that a HTC subcontractor has secured the Danish domain htc-one-x.dk.
Although the 'One' branding with the 'X' and 'S' suffixes may be more modest than the handset's previous titles both elements make for a fairly generic smartphone name.
