As MWC gets ever closer plenty of official announcements are coming from phone-makers about what they're going to have on show there and ZTE is no exception. Like Huawei with its P1 and D1 devices ZTE is lining up some more impressive offerings, at least compared to its normal fare, in the form of the PF200 and N910. While the names might not be very inspiring they are set to be running Ice Cream Sandwich on reasonably good hardware.
Seemingly taking the role of flagship handset for the company is the PF200 which offers a 4.3" qHD display, 1.5GHz processor (it isn't clarified whether this is single-core or dual-core) and LTE connectivity. Other details to be gleaned from the official announcement include the fact that it will work across the main LTE, UTMS and GSM spectrums and is also going to support NFC.
Following that there's the N910 which offers a 1.2GHz processor (it also isn't clarified whether it has one or two cores), WVGA display (size not mentioned) and LTE connectivity. In addition to this there's a 5mp rear-facing camera and a front-facing video camera for video calling.
"These LTE devices are the fore-runners of a wide range of LTE devices ZTE will bring to the market in the coming months, and as more and more LTE networks come on stream" said Mr He Shiyou from ZTE.
The specs might not be that impressive compared to the other flagship handsets due to be on show at the MWC but for ZTE they're a step in the right direction. If Mr Shiyou's comment is anything to go by then it looks like ZTE is going to making more of a name for its self in 2012 with its own-branded devices.
