LG struts its stuff with new L-Style handsets

Trio of good looking devices revealed ahead of the Mobile World Congress

LG has already teamed up with Prada again this year to deliver the clumsily named but good looking Prada Phone by LG 3.0 and now it's cutting a fashionable dash on its own with the announcement of three 'L' branded handsets. The three handsets are known as the L3, L5 and L7 and though the exact specifics of their internal hardware remain a mystery the main differentiator between the trio seems to be their screen sizes.

Not surprisingly the L3 will have the smallest screen at 3.2", followed by the L5 with a 4" display and the L7 with a 4.3" screen.

Rather than divulge the details that everyone wants to know LG chose to use the press release to wax lyrical about what makes the handsets so stylish. Apparently the L-Style range's design philosophy is composed of five elements; modern square style, floating mass technology, seamless layout, harmonised design contrast and sensuous slim shape. Among the benefits these elements are meant bring is a more comfortable phone to hold and intuitively laid out keys.

More will be revealed at the MWC congress next week and the phones promise to be at least drool-worthy in terms of their looks if not their specs. The new devices may not have the benefits of Prada's experience but if they're anything like its most recent collaboration with LG should offer some competitive hardware as well.

The news from LG is the latest in a long line of pre-MWC announcements and the show should also see LG showing off the X3, Miracle and Optimus Vu among others. Following this month's event the L3 is set to be the first to get released in Europe next month, this will then be followed by the L5 and L7 at a later date. While the company might not be forthcoming with the specs it has confirmed that the handsets are going to be shipping with Android 4.0 pre-installed.
