HTC may be working on another Facebook phone
Phone-maker rumoured to be teaming up with social networking giant

It seems like HTC is confident that there's a market for dedicated Facebook phones despite the fact its first two attempts at such a device didn't exactly take the social networking world by storm. According a report from DigiTimes both the phone maker and world's largest site for keeping in touch with friends are teaming up to deliver another handset that's supposedly going to be released no earlier than Q3 this year.
Very little is known about the device at the moment except that it will integrate all functions included on Facebook. The first two Facebook phones from HTC were the ChaCha and Salsa and offered some low-end specs with their main feature being a dedicated button that would allow users to easily share content without having to constantly navigate through menus. Around the same INQ launched its own Facebook phones but they also failed to inspired consumers to switch from their current level of Facebook smartphone integration.
HTC had a fairly productive partnership with Google creating the search engine giant's first own-branded handset but has since been ousted by Samsung. According to the report things are going to stay that way so it might not be so surprising that the company wants to ally itself with another internet superpower.
The news seems to go against Facebook's ethos of not wanting to tie itself to a specific hardware solution but rather to be universally accessible across all makes and models. If it is true then HTC is certainly going to have go back to the drawing board to come up with something more ground breaking than the ChaCha and Salsa. It's not the first time such rumours have appeared however and late last year whispers emerged of a device know as the Buffy which similarly was supposed to be a joint effort between Facebook and HTC.
