BlueStack is well known for its software which allows users to run Android apps on their PCs and Macs and this week has seen it gain the support of Lenovo. It has taken six months for the two companies to finalise the distribution deal but now it's done it means that BlueStack will come pre-loaded in future Idea-branded Lenovo PCs.

The move follows similar deals which BlueStack has made with Asus, MSI and AMD. The addition of Lenovo to the lineup means the BlueStack app player will find itself pre-loaded on 100m computers in 2013.

Using the software Android owners will be able to sync the games on their phones to the app on their PCs via the cloud. Alternatively for people who don't own an Android device it will allow them to see what they're missing out on, at least as far as apps are concerned, and possibly encourage them to buy a handset running the OS.

One of those devices could well be a Lenovo handset, a possibility which no doubt encouraged the PC and smartphone maker to sign on the dotted line.

At CES this week BlueStack will be showing off the latest version of its software which is optimised for Windows 8 ultrabooks, laptops and tablets. With the service expanding its potential user base so dramatically, and HTML5 apps on the horizon, concerns about the number of apps on emerging platforms could well become irrelevant.

"Artificial barriers and silo-ed ecosystems have long been a source of confusion and frustration. The digital world is a celebration of heterogeneous devices. My PC, tablet, smartphone and TV may or may not be from the same brand, but that does not mean that my apps should not work across both devices" said President and CEO of BlueStack Rosen Sharma.

The company doesn't plan to stop at PC's however and it's been said that it is already in talks with connected TV manufacturers to bring Android apps to yet another screen.

For anyone without the pre-loaded version of the software it can be downloaded now and when started greets users with the recent announcement that it has now surpassed 5m downloads from its website.
