Invites have been dispatched to eligible BlackBerry Beta Zone participants allowing them to sign up for the BlackBerry App World 2.0 beta which has begun today. The updates to the BlackBerry application store are designed to provide users with an "intuitive, integrated service for discovering, downloading, recommending and managing mobile applications for personal or business use". Included in the update are new payment options, search features and a user identification system known as BlackBerry ID.
The new payment options in the update aside from PayPal, will allow users to pay by credit card, including Visa and Mastercard, from locations around the world. RIM is also working with various carriers on integrated billing allowing purchases to be added to the customer's monthly bill. Which carriers will be participating will be revealed at a later date and will require a post-paid service plan.
A new tabbed section will make applications easier to find with ability to horizontally swipe or scroll to access categories such as Top 25 Free Apps, Top 25 Paid Apps and Top 25 Themes as well as Newest Apps and Recently Updated Apps. To make life even easier the update also features QR barcode scanning, so when any barcode is scanned from the web, magazine or advert it will take the user straight to the application's download page. There will also be a "My World" section showing any pending downloads.
The aim of BlackBerry ID is to transfer downloaded apps to new smartphone's with the semi-independent ID, a promising new feature for anyone who changes their handset often.
Currently Appworld has been downloaded by 30million users with one million apps a day being downloaded from the store. There's no word yet on when the final version will be released though it seems as if feedback from the beta has been positive so far.

Hi, Since on the BB App World it's available a large numbers of themes, are plans to separate themes from apps? or maybe add featured themes or something like that... The Theme Builder not support OS6.0 yet, are plans to update it soon?
