Wireless Devices
The days when the only mobile devices were cellphones are over. First there were netbooks and PCs with integrated wireless; now there are a variety of products with 3G and/or Wi-Fi included. These include smartphones, tablets, cloudbooks, media players and enterprise products. The next wave will be embedded and machine-to-machine platforms for industrial, home and in-car usage.
This means the wireless device map gets ever more complicated and confusing. The more uses for mobile devices and always-on connections, the more different standards and technologies are involved. To bring order out of this chaos, Rethink Wireless provides daily news updates on all the key elements of the new devices, as well as software platforms underpinning their user experiences and services.
Among the technology areas that are covered on a regular basis are chips, touchscreens, form factors, key vendors, user experiences and the rise of embedded devices.
